Established in 2010, Bridges of Glory founder John Eagles of Hendersonville Tennessee, along with David Bati and Philip Mpindu both of Zimabawe, Africa, stood at the Birchenough Bridge that connects Chipinge with Buhera in Zimbabwe and began to dream of ways to build the Kingdom of God. They began to think of how little that some churches had and how that other churches may not be lacking in the same area, but lacking in another. Therefore, creating a gap between the resources and needs within the body of Christ. Thus, the slogan of Bridges of Glory became, “Bridging the Gap Between Resources and Need”. So, this team began to strategize on how to use the resources of one church group and fill that of another, and vice versa. Having churches working together to strengthen one another. Proverbs 31:8-9 ^“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

John and his wife, Jennifer worked diligently as the hands and feet of Christ both domestically with the unsheltered people in their area and with Zimbabwe, Uganda, Haiti, and Mexico. Soon, God began to expand that vision into soul winning through church planting. What this would consist of finding a village Pastor and working with him to plant a shelter church or gathering place. This shelter would be planted in a non-churched area so that the church growth would be organically building the Kingdom of God. Currently, 14 church shelters have been pioneered and the goal is at least one in each country of Africa.
